Like his hero and frequent collaborator Wiz Khalifa, Lil Uzi Vert began his career in Pennsylvania but incorporates sounds from all over the map, with an irrepressible star quality, occasionally purple dreads and a unique fashion sense that's made him a youth icon. With backing from another Philadelphia native, veteran producer Don Cannon, Uzi makes club-friendly music with familiar influences and a laconic rapping style, but distinguishes himself with a romantic sensibility and nerdy nods to comic books and anime.
