DJ Tira got his start throwing events with his partner Sox as a student at the University of Natal, and subsequently formed Afrotainment. The Durban producer has since kept an eye on shifting trends, updating his oeuvre with kwaito, gqom and everything in between while mentoring countless acts. The super-producer Professor, the influential Big Nuz and the boundary-breaking Babes Wodumo: all have DJ Tira to thank for their ubiquity. Meanwhile, he regularly plays for stadium audiences, churning out hit after hit for the summer-loving Mzansi massive.
