About Ronnie Milsap
Crossover country star Ronnie Milsap is a six-time Grammy winner who had 35 No. 1 hits and 8 Top 10 studio albums and in the ’70s and ’80s. ∙ His 1974 breakout LP, Pure Love, generated back-to-back hits with the title track and his take on Kris Kristofferson’s “Please Don’t Tell Me How the Story Ends.” ∙ At the 1977 Country Music Association awards, Milsap won Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year (Ronnie Milsap Live). ∙ “(There’s) No Gettin’ Over Me” became his biggest crossover smash, topping the Country charts and hitting No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1981. ∙ His mid-’80s nostalgic doo-wop ballad, “Lost in The Fifties Tonight,” was awarded the Academy of Country Music’s Song of the Year and earned two Grammy Awards. ∙ In 2019, he released The Duets, a collaborative LP of his reimagined hits featuring such country stars Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, and Kacey Musgraves. ∙ Milsap has been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame, and the Country Music Hall of Fame.
