The Bucharest-born Vladimir Cosma emigrated to France to further pursue his classical training, and it was there that he experienced the allure of cinema, European pop, and the power of Parisian jazz jams. Drawing on a vast repertoire encompassing concertos, opera, French chanson, jazz and folk, this collection primarily focuses on his film work—like his renowned soundtrack for Diva, collaborations with the Paris Philharmonic Orchestra, and his work with atmospheric jazzman Toots Thielemans—bringing in dreamy love ballads, as well as comic, festive folk notes.
