The Derek Trucks Band Essentials

The Derek Trucks Band Essentials

Fluid Florida slide-guitar prodigy Derek Trucks hit the road with his first group at age 12, spent several years in the Allman Brothers Band, and has co-led the Tedeschi Trucks Band with his wife, Susan Tedeschi, since 2010. While his nearly genetic affinity for the blues is apparent in the wiry "Down in the Flood" and his Latin-funk take on Skip James' "Crow Jane", Trucks is equally impressive amid the Pakistani modal ecstasy of "Sahib Teri Bandi/Maki Madni" and the joyful protest jazz of Rahsaan Roland Kirk's "Volunteered Slavery".
