This tejano singer stole the hearts of fans on both sides of the Mexico-US border when she began exploring an electronic take on cumbia music in the early-‘90s. Selena's sweet voice, charismatic stage presence and memorable costumes helped launch her to stardom. Tragically, she was shot and killed at age 23 before the release of her breakthrough 1995 English language album, Dreaming of You.
