Seasick Steve Essentials

“Seasick" Steve Wold is a modern-day rags-to-riches hero, a talented hillbilly who's remained humble in the face of unexpected celebrity. After years of train-hopping and odd jobs, the loveable, bearded rambler struck gold in the UK with his second full-length release, Dog House Music. The album's success was due in part to a stomping UK television debut on Jools Holland's 2006 Hootenanny, where Seasick performed "Dog House Boogie" using a rattletrap concoction of customised instruments including the Three String Trance Wonder and the Mississippi Drum Machine. By the time he released 2013's Hubcap Music, it was clear he had made it: the guest list included Jack White and Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones. Long may he roam.
