Nine Inch Nails' Trent Reznor and Korn's Jonathan Davis have both cited seminal '80s metal band Prong as an influence. One of the first bands to introduce electronic elements, they helped to forge the industrial metal scene. The New York group hit their stride on 1994's Cleansing, crystallizing their mix of pounding, anthemic heaviness and digital effects. They disbanded in 1997 but regrouped in 2002 to hit the road and the studio once again.
