Papon has made a success of his talents by keeping an open mind, delivering a unique mix of East Indian folk and Western electronic sounds. Born Angaraag Mahanta, he first trained in Indian classical music. Most of his time was spent honing his vocal ability, though he did learn to play the khol, tabla, guitar and harmonium too. The multilingual singer has lent his talents to numerous Assamese, Hindi and Bengali films with his most notable recent hit song "Kyon" from Barfi!. And he's just getting started.
