Few bands worshipped speed, power, and volume as passionately as Motörhead. After their inception in the mid-'70s, the late Lemmy Kilmister and crew devoted themselves to a brutal brand of propulsion that's the genetic link between metal, punk, and greaser rock. Their top jams boast a singular balance between caveman pummel and muscle car–like engineering—the raspy and feral “Ace of Spaces” leans toward the former, while the precise attack of “Overkill” speaks to the latter. Recorded in 2015 with double-kick ferocity, “Thunder & Lightning” serves as a testament to their durability.
