Roots-rock veteran Lucinda Williams' album tracks burn with the same irrepressible energy of her best-known songs. “Righteously” seethes and smokes with sexual tension, building intensity with wild, shredded lead guitar as Williams lays out how this romance should play out. “Joy”, meanwhile, finds her demanding the return of her happiness over funky electric blues, and the sparse, acoustic “Jackson” might be the saddest break-up tune you ever did hear.
