Oregon native LP Giobbi grew up in a household full of Grateful Dead records, but don’t expect sprawling jams from her own music: The Austin-based DJ/producer favours clean-lined drum programming, sculpted basslines and buoyant piano-house riffs with nary a note out of place. Her 2020 festival favourite “Meet Again” shifts effortlessly from wistfully understated to hands-in-the-air anthemic, while 2022’s “All In A Dream” finds her pushing dance grooves into atmospheric alternative pop. But her hippie roots do occasionally reveal themselves: Her remix of The Mamas & The Papas’ “California Dreamin’” is positively steeped in tie-dyed vibes.
