Moving from Jamaica to Miami to New York City, Kranium grew up in three reggae hotspots. That may explain how he mastered the genre with such ease, coolly sliding across its bass-heavy beats. His debut, "Nobody Has to Know", was a slow-burning hit; its nursery-rhyme melody was a fixture at just about every dancehall party in 2015. Tracks like "Rumors" and "Lifestyle" followed its success, setting his seductive croon over expansive synths and plenty of reverb. "Sidung", from 2018, builds on that template, with Kranium describing his favorite early-morning activity while drums pound steadily below him.
