John Lydon fronted the Sex Pistols as Johnny Rotten. His venomous lyrics and menacing howl made him a poster boy for punk and set the bar for the bands that followed. After the Pistols imploded, Lydon formed Public Image Ltd., defining post-punk in the process. He finally released a solo record, Psycho's Path, in 1997, but eventually reunited PiL in 2009 after a 17-year hiatus.
