Jimmy Robbins: The Songwriters

Jimmy Robbins made an emo-steeped pop-rock album under his own name before launching a career behind the scenes in Nashville. He found that his skills at crafting hooks and building emotion-packed tracks translated well to the country scene, and held special appeal for artists who wanted to capture the sensitive side of romance and rumination. After scoring with David Nail’s “Whatever She’s Got” and Thomas Rhett’s “It Goes Like This” in 2013, Robbins had a hand in the tuneful reminiscing of Keith Urban and Miranda Lambert (“We Were Us”), RaeLynn’s portrait of childhood conflict (“Love Triangle”), Maren Morris’ modern ode to the sturdiness of commitment (“The Bones”) and plenty of other standout country-pop tunes, including more recent collaborations with Kelsea Ballerini.
