Jane's Addiction: Influences

Jane's Addiction may be synonymous with early ‘90s alt-rock, but their idiosyncratic sound took inspiration from all kinds of different sources. The gothic post-punk of The Cure, the reggae grooves of Lee "Scratch" Perry, the spaced-out psychedelia of The Doors—Perry Farrell and Co. mixed them all into a surprisingly funky style that would prove equally influential in its own right.
