James: Next Steps

James: Next Steps

James never quite fit in with the Britpop or indie booms of the ‘90s, instead favouring a classicist mode of English songwriting that could still ring out in any era. These fan favourites illustrate their unique, shimmering sound. They explored spaced-out soundscaping balladry on “Out To Get You”, injected a dance pulse into “Porcupine” and reached for the sky with the chiming, multitracked upstrokes of “Seven”.
