Editors' Notes After several early EPs that Kevin Shields has since disowned, My Bloody Valentine settled into a stable line-up of Shields and Bilinda Butcher sharing guitar and vocal duties backed by bassist Debbie Googe and drummer Colm Ó Cíosóig. 1988's You Made Me Realise introduced their signature sound of heavily processed guitar lines and somnambulant vocals awash in reverb and buried deep in the mix. Two albums, Isn't Anything and Loveless, defined the shoegaze sound, but Shields became frozen by perfectionism in their wake. The third album, mbv, didn't appear until 2013.
