Inspired by Royal Trux

In the ‘90s, Royal Trux's bluesy scuzz left an immediate mark on their indie rock peers, prompting the likes of Pavement and Sonic Youth to get down ‘n' dirty as they never had before. After Royal Trux's 2000 dissolution, their influence bubbled up to a new generation of garagey noisemakers—most notably Alison Mosshart, who's applied her Jennifer Herrema-like howls to the lo-fi racket of The Kills and the muscular rock of The Dead Weather.
