Inspired by Pere Ubu

Since the ‘70s, Pere Ubu have inspired young punks to wave their freak flags high. Mission of Burma (“Trem Two”) and Gang of Four (“Not Great Men”) studied Pere Ubu's angular guitars and sharp rhythms; Ween and Primus took the cue to follow their muses wherever they may lead ("Frank" and "My Name Is Mud," respectively); and outspoken young punks like Parquet Courts ("Paraphrased") picked up their verbose, defiant spirit.
