Hervé Niquet Essentials

The French conductor, harpsichordist and tenor is a sterling interpreter of the Baroque canon of his homeland, and Niquet's performances of English highlights from the same period (such as Purcell's King Arthur) are every bit as graceful and gorgeous as his recordings of Lully and Rameau. After serving as a tenor in William Christie's storied Les Arts Florissants ensemble, this triple threat formed his own celebrated group, Le Concert Spirituel. His conducting of select 20th-century composers, such as Debussy, also demonstrates a winning crispness.
