Happy Mondays: Influences

Happy Mondays: Influences

Happy Mondays are a product of Manchester's thriving ‘80s electronic and indie scenes. They assimilated contemporary acid house tracks from A Guy Called Gerald and M/A/R/R/S, adding Funkadelic basslines, New Order's austere song structures and references to classic rock songs such as Karl Denver's “Wimoweh”, in a freewheeling mash-up of their own record collections.
