Omar Souhaili was raised by an artistically conservative family in the Bine Lemdoune district of Casablanca. Access to music was minimal, but he found his way to open mic showcases and penned his first songs aged 16. After releasing a succession of mixtapes, a chance meeting with local hip-hop head DJ Key led to his first music video, 2011’s “Cazafonia”. Dizzy DROS’ debut album, 3azzy 3ando Stylo, followed in 2013, the fruit of months spent squeezing writing sessions around full-time work. Potent, poetic couplets and a distinctive, rasping style define his crisp sound.
