Brodha V Essentials

Vighnesh Shivanand has an independent soul. As a teenager, he transformed frustration into his first lyrics by posting on social network Orkut. He made his mark on Bangalore’s rap scene in 2008 alongside his crew Machas With Attitude, then forged his own path by fusing Carnatic rhythms with a distinctly ‘90s hip-hop flavour. From the urgent authenticity of 2012 break-out hit “Aathma Raama” to the sly undercurrent of dark humour in “Let ‘Em Talk”, Brodha V weaves multilingual punchlines with Indian instrumentation for an avant-garde approach to street rap.
