Adam Ant Essentials

Born Stuart Goddard in 1954, Adam Ant was one of the most successful new romantic artists of the early ‘80s and rose to become the music world's Prince Charming. Ant's popularity stemmed from his unique Burundi-beat songs that incorporated new wave, punk, faux Native American war cries and even bardic music traditions. His fashion sense matched the tunes, with modernized elements of foppery, war paint, colonial dress and pirate clothing delivered with a whole lot of sex appeal. Disbanding the Ants in 1982, Ant had a successful solo career through 1995, which he revived in 2012.
