About Zion Foster

Using a delicately powerful tenor and intermittent spurts of dreamy falsetto, South London’s Zion Foster slides between modern R&B and Afrobeat as he crafts earnest level-up anthems (“Mt. Everest”) and love songs as tender as his vocals (“Strongly Weak”). Born in 1999, Zion was raised in a Nigerian household and exposed to the sounds of Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Tevin Campbell. He took an interest in music after a singing instructor told him he had a nice voice. And when his 2015 song “Get This Girl” got thousands of streams shortly after he uploaded it to the web, Zion realised a lot of people agreed. In 2019, he consummated his rise with 25/8, a sleek, hip-hop-oriented joint project with Brandz. The more mature The Lion’s Den from 2020 touches on a perilous music industry, a place where he seems to have become pretty comfortable.
