About William Doyle

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I clearly remember a night drive as a child, as the sun had nearly set and the streetlights were flickering on, and hearing "Nights in White Satin" by The Moody Blues. The hugeness of its sound and its haunting melodies have always stayed with me. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Björk, Homogenic Brian Eno, Discreet Music Deerhunter, Halcyon Digest These three albums have had a huge impact on me creatively. I clearly remember my life being changed dramatically from the first times I heard them. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “And Everything Changed (But I Feel Alright)” This song really just fell out of me. Once I had the basic beat and the chords, it kind of wrote itself. It really captured the melancholy I was feeling at the time I wrote it, just as Autumn was beginning to fall. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? It's hard to choose one. I've been on world tours, supported and collaborated with some of my favourite artists, been nominated for a Mercury Prize. I've had an amazing career in many ways and I'm very lucky. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The bucket list only has one item on it: "make the next album."
