About Warrant
Warrant is an American glam metal band that sold more than 10 million albums worldwide during their peak of popularity in the 1990s. ∙ Formed by members of Hollywood “hair metal” bands Plain Jane and Knightmare II, Warrant signed a deal with Columbia Records in 1988 following a bidding war involving several labels. ∙ Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich, the band’s 1989 debut, reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and sold over two million albums within a year of its release. ∙ In 1989, Warrant’s power ballad “Heaven” rose to No. 2 on Billboard’s Hot 100. ∙ Featuring a guitar solo from Poison’s C.C. DeVille, the group’s 1990 hit anthem “Cherry Pie” was included by VH1 on its list of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs. ∙ The 1990 Cherry Pie album was their most successful, charting at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 and selling over two million copies in the US.
