West Yorkshire post-punk group the Lounge Society have a distinctly groovy, danceable feel to their music, aiming to get bodies moving while delivering precise social commentary and insight into rural life in Northern England. After sending out fleets of emails in the hope someone would be interested, Speedy Wunderground owner Dan Carey responded, offering to record their debut single, 2020's "Generation Game." They continued working with Carey on their debut EP, 2021's Silk for Starving, and their debut album, 2022's Tired of Liberty.
