Blonds' stylish, electronic-infused indie pop is imbued with romance and melodrama. Comprised of couple Cari Rae and Jordy Asher, the group (not to be confused with the Brooklyn-by-way-of-Oberlin dance music duo Blondes) formed in West Palm Beach, Florida, and self-released its first EP, Dark Roots, in 2011. By early 2012, Rae and Asher moved to Brooklyn and joined producer Nicolas Vernjes (Spoon, Dirty Projectors, Deerhunter) to record the full-length debut, The Bad Ones.
