About Tarryn Lamb

Tarryn Lamb’s music is a staple of South African adult-contemporary radio, thanks to pop ballads and soft-rock tunes that celebrate love (“Mal Oor Jou”), relationships (“Vier Woorde”) and Christmas ("Langarm Krismis"). Born in the fishing town of Ocean View, Western Cape in 1985, Lamb studied musical performance at Waterfront Theatre School and, in 2012, started the English-language country-pop trio BlackByrd alongside Axene Prinsloo and Tamsyn Maker. While her initial solo songs were also in English, Tarryn began favouring Afrikaans following her award-winning roles in Afrikaans soap operas Suidooster (Southeast) and Binnelanders. Her albums, including 2018’s Mal Oor Jou and 2019’s Kersfees Met Tarryn Lamb (Christmas With), showcase diverse songwriting and dynamic vocal performances—she has no qualms hitting the high notes when necessary.
