Toronto-based Punjabi rapper Sukha (aka Sukhman Sodhi) presents himself as a lovelorn soul as well as a free-spirited figure, through hip-hop bops that have found fans in the West and India alike. Sukha started out in 2022 with the release of prodGK-produced single “Siftaan”—a punchy debut that paired wisdom-heavy storytelling with lilting music that had a breezy flow that belied its menace. The rapper and producer teamed up again for “Same Thing” in 2023, which took off via video platforms, garnering more reach in India as well as among Punjabi communities around the world. With songs like “Attraction” and his EP UNDISPUTED from 2023, Sukha takes a club-friendly approach with autotuned vocals that hook like few others in the Punjabi pop and hip-hop game.
