Secret Night Gang

Secret Night Gang are a modern, high-powered extension of the U.K.'s club-based soul, funk, and acid jazz scenes. While they specialize in alternately driving and breezy grooves enlivened by a horn section led by saxophonist Callum Connell, they aren't averse to delivering the occasional love ballad to shine a brighter light on frontman Kemani Anderson. The Manchester-based band are signed to Brownswood Recordings, an independent label operated by Gilles Peterson, the BBC DJ who neologized acid jazz and co-founded the label of the same name. They made their full-length debut in 2021 with a self-titled album and two years later issued the follow-up Belongs on a Place Called Earth.
