In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. A lot of weekends as kids we loved going to the pool. My Dad would drive us home in his old Stag, and we would play music loud. I can still smell the vinyl seats of that car as I conjure up the image of me trying to harmonise with The Pet Shop Boys. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Elliott Smith, Xo Sade, Lovers Rock Tracy Chapman, Crossroads There's so much incredible music and much of our feeling towards it is tied in to memories and moods. My emotions are all over the shop and so are my music tastes. I wouldn't know where to start so here are three albums that are dear to my heart. Tell us why you chose this song. “Shadow” Many artists say that making their art is a form of therapy - this was one of those. I was in a dark place with my mental health, and before making this track I was a bit lost. Channeling a lot of those feelings in to this song saved me in a way. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I was lucky enough to be invited by Talvin Singh to perform with him at a private concert to honour a book on the life of Mahatma Gandhi. It was a beautiful event and I was honoured to be sitting alongside such accomplished musicians. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Singing my songs to people and connecting with other humans through music is what helps me make sense of this strange world. Being able to continue doing that is my main aim. Also dreaming of sold out shows!
