About S.O.A.P.

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. We both run to childhood memories. Onglish listened to music with his dad & felt that sound was a mysterious world to get lost in. Scribe banged rhythms through his drum sticks on any surface he could find. We still chase those feelings in our work. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Vices” Vices exemplifies our commitment to pursuing feeling; digging into unorthodox song structures to bring out the most honest versions of ourselves. We abandoned the classic 16 bar verses & 8 bar hooks to let the beat and words become their own world. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Mel Brown Music festival, May 2023. The show was in massive space in Kitchener Library, floor to ceiling windows had sunlight beaming down through fog onto us as we performed. We opened for Toronto rap legend Saukrates & felt aligned with our goals. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? We would like to do a tour, pay for a car off the strength of our music, to release our Space Trilogy EPs & to win a Grammy by 2025 (listen to Great Death off our self-titled project).
