About Robert Caruso

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Hearing The Rolling Stones and The Yardbirds on radio, at age 2 or 3, and seeing Elvis Presley on TV. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Lou Reed, Between Thought and Expression: The Lou Reed Anthology The Rolling Stones, The Rolling Stones Singles Collection: The London Years Remastered The Stooges, The Stooges Lou Reed and The Velvet Underground, The Stooges and The Rolling Stones are among those who influenced my song-writing, my style and sound when I started working as a professional musician at age 15. There are many more, of course. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “You're Doing Nothing Now” Opening track of my first album. My music doesn't fit into any obvious, pre-existing "genre"; it is Rock and Roll in the widest sense of the term. As with 99% of my releases, I write, arrange, play all instruments and produce them single-handed. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? 1) Opening for Ray Charles, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Pops Staples, Steve Marriott, Johnny Thunders, Alan Vega, etc.. 2) Singing with Elvis' original band and The Yardbirds. 3) Being close with Nico aged 20. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The Best-Kept Secret In Rock'n'Roll (2012) Love And Death (2014) Three Minutes To Midnight (2016) When My Train Comes (2020) Flange (2022), none is a "compilation" and nowadays' muzak. New solo & acoustic album Downhome scheduled for release 03/2025
