In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I only listened to Bollywood until I was 10, then rock, and then rap and R&B. I started making my own music at 12 and my first song was about my mom. Performing in front of my family felt euphoric, and made me realize that I was born to perform. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? 6LACK, FREE 6LACK James Blake, Assume Form The Weeknd, Trilogy These three albums are my biggest inspirations: James for sound design and intentionality, 6LACK for the therapy he provided thru his sound and writing, and The Weeknd for his vocal range and writing ability. Tell us why you chose this song. “Eastsidelove” This was written during a time when I was attempting to reclaim ownership of myself. I lost myself a bit a few years prior and felt lost. A part of me wanted to be spiteful, so I decided to create this song in the shoes of the spiteful person. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Performing on Dec 3 and Jan 4 to fundraise for a cause helped me relearn my purpose - not only to make intentful art, but also to impact the world by doing good. Being on stage with people singing to my unreleased music made me remember my worth. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? The day I'm able to successfully impact millions of lives worldwide with my music therapeutically is the day I know I've done my job. Also really excited to start up Junoon ULTD. as a label and creative house in the next 5 years.
