About Rachel Willis-Sørensen

Soprano Rachel Willis-Sørensen has a powerful voice and a wide repertory stretching from Mozart to the 20th century. In 2008, Willis-Sørensen also made her professional debut at the Utah Festival, singing the High Priestess in Verdi's Aïda. In 2009, she won the Eleanor McCollum Competition for Young Singers in Houston, and the following year, the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. More major recognition for Willis-Sørensen came with the first prize, Birgit Nilsson Prize, and Zarzuela Prize at Plácido Domingo's Operalia competition in 2014. In 2021-2022, she sang Mimi in Puccini's La bohème in a live online broadcast opposite star tenor Jonas Kaufmann, and she played Elsa in Wagner's Lohengrin at Oper Frankfurt. Willis-Sørensen was signed to a multi-album deal by the Sony Classical label and released her debut album, Rachel, in 2022.
