About Rachel Stamp

Comprising David Ryder-Prangley (vocals/bass), Will Crewdson (guitar), Mike Rowe (keyboards) and Cliff Harris (drums), UK rock band Rachel Stamp were signed to WEA Records in May 1995 after playing live just four times. Their collective influences, encompassing T. Rex, Jane’s Addiction and Prince, were revealed on their debut single, ‘Pop Singer’, released in March 1996. It was co-produced by the band with Dave Eringa. Shortly after completing a debut album, however, they were dropped by their record company who were disturbed by the band’s experimental tendencies. Ryder-Prangley and Crewdson regrouped with Shaheena Dax (keyboards) and Robin Guy (drums), releasing several independent label singles and garnering a loyal live following for their energetic, tacky and thoroughly decadent brand of glam rock.
