In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. The first musical idea I ever transcribed was the flute solo at the end of Color My World by Chicago. I was probably twelve, and I loved the timbre and simplicity of the solo as well as the piece itself. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Hubert Laws, The Best of Hubert Laws Jewel House, Live from a Basement Quincy Jones, Big Band Bossa Nova These three albums are all rooted in great composition as well as great arranging. I am heavily influenced in my own music by these artists, especially in instrumentation and style. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? For me, the most memorable moments are the opportunities for me to perform my original music live. There is no greater feeling than connecting with an audience, as well as the other performers. I have had many moments like this in the last year. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? It is on my bucket list to collaborate on a project with a singer and musicians outside of the jazz genre. Whether it be me arranging, composing, or playing alongside this artist, it is something that I would like to do more regularly.
