One Desire was initially formed in 2012 when drummer Ossi Sivula started demo'ing songs he'd written with friends and fellow musicians, but it wouldn't be until 2014 when things started to click after Sivula met fellow Finnish guitarist Jimmy Westerlund, who had moved back to his homeland after a stint in Los Angeles playing with and producing the likes of Pitbull, Sturm und Drang, and Negative. Changing their musical direction, Sivula recorded three tracks that caught the attention of Frontiers Records boss Serafino Perugino. Adding singer André Linman to the band, the group was finally rounded out by bassist Jonas Kuhlberg in 2016. With all the members in place, the group entered the studio in mid-2016 to record their debut album. Taking inspiration from the likes of Def Leppard, Toto, and Journey, as well as harder modern rock acts, the melodic yet tough-sounding eponymously titled album dropped in early 2017. ~ Rich Wilson
