A dynamic German heavy metal outfit, Nailed to Obscurity's versatile mix of death, progressive, and doom metal pairs punishing riffs with spectral soundscapes, evoking artists like Katatonia, Paradise Lost, Amorphis, and early Opeth. Emerging in 2005, the band was founded by guitarists Jan-Ole Lamberti and Volker Dieken. Their debut album, Abyss, arrived two years later, and was promoted with performances alongside decibel-wielding contemporaries such as Dark Tranquillity, Paradise Lost, and Arch Enemy. In 2013 they released their critically acclaimed sophomore long-player, Opaque, via Apostasy Records. High-profile appearances at festivals like Wacken Open Air and Summer Breeze followed, and in 2017 the band issued their third full-length outing, King Delusion, again via Apostasy.
