My Indigo

My Indigo is the solo project of Dutch singer/songwriter and frontwoman of symphonic metal act Within Temptation, Sharon den Adel. A sonic departure from the heavier stylings of her mainstay project, it focuses on elements of contemporary pop with resonant synths, acoustic guitars, bombastic percussion, and den Adel's vocals as the focal point. She announced the project in late 2017, explaining that she had conceived her own songs after battling writer's block, and delivered her first solo single -- also titled "My Indigo" -- in November of that year. A second single, "Crash and Burn," arrived in early 2018 with her eponymous full-length following that April. ~ Rob Wacey
