About Michael Talbott and The Wolfkings

San Francisco's Michael Talbott grew up listening to British folk thanks to his father. Dad was passionate about Nick Drake, Steeleye Span, and Fairport Convention, so passionate that Michael was only four years old when he experienced his first Richard Thompson concert. The adult Michael would play in a hardcore band before embracing folk again with his role in the Winter Flowers, a band known around the Bay Area for their Fairport sound and renaissance fair stage attire. After leaving the band in early 2004, Talbott created a new backing band with a revolving membership. Members of the Court & Spark would spend time in the band and would also lend their studio to Talbott for work on his debut. After a year of recording, Michael Talbott & the Wolfkings released Freeze-Die-Come to Life on the Antenna Farm label in 2006. ~ David Jeffries
