- No locked curiosity-door, here. Just lush, synth-soaked soundscapes that helped set the tone for one of TV’s buzziest ever first seasons. Obviously, Dixon and Stein—who moonlight as Austin Korg-maestros S U R V I V E and supplied music for the soundtrack to revivalist splatterfest The Guest—lovingly ransack ‘80s ambience. But there are thrilling changes in pace, as evidenced by the drum stabs on the fittingly haunting “Lights Out”.

About Michael Stein
Texas producer and composer Michael Stein is known for being one-fourth of the Austin-based synth group S U R V I V E and for composing the score for Netflix's hugely successful Stranger Things series. Along with fellow S U R V I V E co-founder Kyle Dixon, Stein composed for the Stranger Things series in 2016, and the score was commended for its innovative use of electronics and homage to classic soundtracks of '80s horror and sci-fi movies. The Stranger Things title theme went on to earn both composers the 2017 Emmy for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music. Stein and Dixon returned to compose the score for the show's second season, which arrived in the fall of that year. ~ Rob Wacey
