About Maths Time Joy

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I used to share a room with my brother and he would always play hip hop , especially 2001 by Dr Dre. I remember being drawn to the production and then looking into the samples. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Burial, Untrue (Bonus Tracks Version) Common, Be Be by Common, one of my favourite hip hop albums. The production is mostly soul samples, and Common’s words over the top is the perfect combination. The 2nd would be Untrue by Burial, probably one of the most influential in terms of sound for me. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Cerulean” I made this song with Gallant and I think it captures everything I try to make in my music. A soulfulness but still using interesting production, which is always the intersection that I'm trying to achieve and I think this track does it best. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The moment I got nominated for a Grammy felt like a milestone, but some of my favourite memories are just moments of creation where an idea forms in front of you and you know it’s something special. I think it’s all part of a journey. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? A lot of things, I think a music career is a constant search for the next goal. I would love to create or work on an album that’s considered timeless or ends up in the greatest albums lists. That's always been one of my main goals.
