About Lujza

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I first went to music school as a little kid, we couldn't actually afford a piano, so Mum made me paper keys to practice on. I would fold it out on the table until my Grandfather saved up enough to buy me my first piano. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Alicia Keys, The Diary of Alicia Keys Joss Stone, Mind, Body & Soul Lauryn Hill, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill These three albums represent the cross-section of R&B and Soul that has helped me become the writer that I am and find my musical place. These Queens helped me find power in lyrics and tell my stories and place no limitation on my creativity. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Daddy Issues (Explicit)” Daddy Issues explores my painful relationship with my father. His antics - cheating and absence - have left some deep scars on me that have shaped my relationships with men. In this song it's expressed as resentment but this is only chapter 1. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? Completing the final song on my first studio album 'Caught Up'. This was a significant milestone for me as it was an uphill battle to make it happen. When I released on my birthday in 2022, I finally felt like an Artist. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? I'd love to play at the House of Blues and Glastonbury and tour the world with my music. I would also love to collaborate with Ed Sheeran, Joss Stone, Lauryn Hill and Beverly Knight.
