Lotus Crush

About Lotus Crush

Lotus Crush are a passionate, anthemic rock outfit featuring former Driveblind vocalist Terry McDermott and Candlebox guitarist Peter Klett. After Driveblind parted ways in 2009, Aberdeen, Scotland native McDermott relocated to New Orleans with his family. It was around this time that he met guitarist Klett and, along with Candlebox drummer Scott Mercado, guitarist John Luzzi, guitarist Island Styles, and bassist Mark Mattrey, began writing and recording as Lotus Crush. In 2011 Lotus Crush released their debut album, Half-Light Morning, on Fontana. However, a year later McDermott began competing on the NBC reality singing competition The Voice, where he ultimately finished as the show's first male runner-up. Despite his solo success, McDermott decided to stick with Lotus Crush, and in 2015 the group returned with its sophomore album, Rabbit Hole, featuring the single "Hearts and Minds." ~ Matt Collar
