b. New York, USA. Clarke originally sang in Harlem church choirs before joining with Luther Vandross in Listen My Brother, eventually striking out solo. She made her recording debut in 1981 for West End Records, enjoying a minor dance hit with ‘Let’s Go Dancing’. She returned to a singing career in the 90s, making the Top 40 in the UK with ‘Rushing’, and gaining a further success with the Lem Springsteen/John Ciafone written and produced ‘U’. Now signed to A&M Records, the disc saw remixes by hot club acts Mood II Swing and K Klass.
