In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Growing up in Accra, Ghana I was exposed to incredible sounds and genres. But I remember my grandma singing whenever she came to visit, I’d always try to copy her riffs or learn the words of a song off by heart. Akon, Konvicted Justin Timberlake, Justified Kanye West, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy Akon holds a place in heart, Mama Africa was the continental anthem it played everywhere in the streets of Ghana.
